About Wilson Street Gallery at Danks

Wilson Street Gallery is located in the vibrant contemporary art complex at 2 Danks Street. The gallery’s exhibition program features emerging and mid-career artists working in a wide range of artistic media including painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and ceramic with an emphasis on Australian artists whose practices have evolved over many decades, reflecting the materiality and diversity of contemporary artmaking and the intrinsic value of a strong conceptual and aesthetic sensibility.

The gallery maintains a firm commitment to nurturing the careers of our represented artists and to developing relationships with curators, collectors and critics. We provide a comprehensive range of services including advising and consulting, assistance with purchasing, loaning work on approval, rentals and installation where required.

Our 2012 program includes curated and solo exhibitions including ‘The Abstract Canvas’, featuring gallery and invited artists, showcasing the best of Australian abstract painting, a survey show of works from Marnling Press and Whaling Road Studio and individual exhibitions by artists including Asher Bilu, Heather Ellyard and Bronwyn Bancroft.
